Will you plz tell me the gaseous exchange occuring between a plant leaf and the atmosphere overnight?

i think its about plant respiration but i want to know how does it work? If stomata close at night, how does carbon dioxide go out of the leaf?Is it by diffusion?plz answer ..thank you ...
