Should I still respect my mother?

where was your dad when your mother was saying this was her laptop? he should be the one to make it clear who it belongs too. as for respecting her. for many years my siblings would tell me that i don't respect my parents.here is my thoughts on it, your parents have the right to discipline you have the right to tell you what is right and what is wrong. but, they too need to give you respect, in order to get respect. i know people are going to say this is your mother you have to give her respect. but just because they are your mom and dad, does not mean that you have to be treated like crap by them and you still have to respect them.let her have the stupid laptop, if it means so much to her.but like i said you have to give respect to get respect regardless of who it is.
