What are good guitar pickups to use for death metal?

Now I have been using dimarzios recently and they sound pretty good, but I need something MUCH darker sounding for the brutal tones. More like cannibal corpse or Skinless. I write REALLY technical death metal, so I also need something that has decent clarity Not just turn the gain up and rip the knob off. Also keep in mind, I am using a Tube amp (Crate blue voodoo 120) so pickups like the X2N and the dime bucker sound like CRAP on it. thanks!
